SRO is an abbreviation of the Dutch words for Sport, Recreation & Education, and up until 1992, part of the municipality of Amersfoort. Nowadays, SRO is an independent organisation that, in addition to sports promotion, manages real estate. Due to the expansion of joint ventures and an outdated website, we were asked to develop a new online platform.
The starting point is one platform where SRO can manage all the accommodations’ sites (around 30 sites for i.a. swimming pools and sports centres), both centralised and decentralised. We developed a completely manageable multisite platform (WordPress). It consists of multiple layers of site management for both a team of supermanagers and editors of separate accommodation sites. And sharing this content on multiple sites is very straightforward.
We began by performing an extensive survey on the website’s visitors, users and administrators. We processed these results in the platform’s structure and translated them into the design. After we built the site, we gave training to the users. This way, they can maintain the platform themselves. From the moment the website went live, the traffic and swimming lesson registrations increased on all channels. Since going live, there has been an increase in visitors by 20% and a 34% increase in online swimming lesson registrations.
The new website ensured that the website has been improved technically and is more accessible for both target audiences. In terms of user-friendliness, the load time of the new SRO website has also decreased and enhanced.
